The Buyer/ Planner is responsible for analyzing material requirements to support customer on-time delivery and optimal inventory levels. The Buyer/ Planner will be responsible for reviewing and aligning dates, purchasing (Direct, STO, MRO, and Outside Processing), and managing inventory levels to ensure that appropriate amounts of materials are planned to meet customer and business requirements. This individual will interface directly with Customer Care, Engineering, Production, Receiving, Shipping, Accounts Payable, and Category Managers. The Buyer/ Planner will report directly to the Materials Supervisor.
Schedule: Mon – Fri (8:00 – 5:00 pm) Onsite
Expected Base Salary Range: [$65,000 – $75,000]
The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for this position. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, the geographic market of that location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons among other potential factors.
Responsibilities
- Utilize SAP functionalities to develop production plans and schedules that optimize resource utilization and meet customer delivery expectations.
- Analyze production capacity and constraints within SAP to balance workload and adjust schedules as necessary.
- Create and maintain detailed production schedules within SAP based on the established production plans.
- Coordinate with production supervisors and operators to ensure smooth execution of the production schedule.
- Hosts daily production meetings with Purchasing, Materials, Manufacturing, and sales to identify challenges and solutions to meet customer order fulfillment dates
- Identifies alternate solutions to meet customer want date and/or original confirm date. Reports and escalates potential and existing late customer deliveries
- Monitor production progress within SAP and identify potential bottlenecks or delays, taking proactive measures to address them.
- Communicate schedule changes and updates within SAP to relevant stakeholders, including the operations team, procurement, and customer service.
- Collaborate with the materials management team to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and supplies for production.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records within SAP, including production schedules, material requirements, and production performance metrics.
- Utilize SAP's reporting capabilities to analyze production data and identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance efficiency.
- Hosts and leads High Risk process for identified orders and ensures order completion from release to shipment.

Qualifications
- Preferred but not required - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field.
- Experience in manufacturing, preferably planning or 3-5 years minimum relevant manufacturing experience
- Experience as a Buyer/planner in a manufacturing environment, utilizing SAP as the primary ERP system.
- Strong understanding of production planning principles, scheduling techniques, and inventory management within SAP.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytic skills, a high degree of Microsoft Excel knowledge is required
- Good organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Understanding of concepts in a Lean Manufacturing Environment
- Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency
