SUMMARY
The Regal Business Systems (RBS) specialist assists the site leader driving operational excellence across all areas of the site supporting SQDCG (safety, quality, delivery, cost competitiveness, and Growth) through the effective application of the Regal Business System tools and methodologies, allowing the site to drive top line revenue growth and bottom-line profitability. The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist role involves managing overall safety, health, and environmental activities with the primary goal of reducing loss and liability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
REGAL BUSINESS SYSTEMS (RBS) SPECIALIST
- The RBS Specialist is equal parts leader, coach, and doer who lives at Gemba where the work is done.
- The RBS Specialist will focus on the entire value chain from quote to cash for all revenue streams for the site.
- Assist in the development of the site continuous improvement roadmap and lead/facilitate the execution of the roadmap.
- Lead/facilitate the implementation/sustainment of lean tools (Visual Management, 6S, TPM, kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, plan-do-check-act).
- Support Model Value Stream planning and development (Vision and Challenges) and execution on supporting A3’s.
- Support management in creating Policy Deployment, Bowlers, KPI’s and action plans.
- Manage and report on the portfolio of Kaizen activities.
- Oversee the success of the kaizen events, including:
- Planning of events with a dynamic funnel process tied to Policy Deployment/Model Value Stream and Daily Management
- Event execution; and sustainment of kaizen event results
- Provide on-going master-level support and guidance on RBS principles/tools.
- Act as change agent in challenging existing approaches and performance.
- Shepherd implementation of RBS principles/tools to improve safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and reduce operating costs and inventory.
- Lead the development of strong problem-solving capability and capacity within the organization.
- Provide direct support for Manufacturing Team Leader Development Program and other leadership development efforts.
- Conduct and/or coordinate local training in RBS tools to deepen organization’s understanding and capability.
- Maintain and improve lean knowledge through continuous education.
- Manage key projects/programs for the business.
- Assist other Regal Rexnord businesses and Corporate RBS Team in the development and implementation of RBS tools and processes.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY (EHS) RESPONSIBLITIES
- Supports the development, implementation, and management of safety programs to ensure compliance with EHS regulations
- Investigate and documents workplace accidents/incidents involving injuries and near misses, and supports the development of corrective measures and the monitoring of their timely implementation
- Lead the improvement of sustainability in relation to waste, air/water emissions, energy consumption, and other environmentally relevant activities
- Work with management to develop and promote a proactive safety culture with a focus on prevention and compliance with legal requirements
- Monitor and report on EHS performance, including the development of ideas for improvement, prevention, and corrective measures
- Conduct internal EHS audits to identify risks/deviations and initiate countermeasures
- Work with management to monitor, continuously improve, and implement measures in a timely manner
- Coordinate and/or carry out all company-specific/legal reviews of measures
- Maintain and update the company-specific central EHS system (Sharepoint) and other EHS reporting
- Responsible for compliance with legal EHS regulations and group/company-specific processes
- Support in the selection, testing, procurement, and maintenance of operating facilities, work equipment, personal protective equipment, workplace design, and assessment of working conditions
- Safety inspection of operating facilities, technical work equipment, and work procedures prior to commissioning or introduction
- Monitoring occupational safety and accident prevention through regular inspections, accident analysis, and training/instruction
- Participation in and chairing of regular meetings of the occupational safety committee, as well as documentation and follow-up
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. Degree in any STEM field, Supply Chain, Business, or Operations or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- ASP/CSP (Associate Safety Professional/Certified Safety Professional) Certification is preferred
- 1+ years of related experience in manufacturing, operations, processing, continuous improvement, safety and health management, Safety Management, Occupational Health or other related experience.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles, RBS, or other forms of TPS is desired.
- Comprehensive knowledge of occupational safety best practices and OSHA regulations
- Creative and progressive thinker with excellent interpersonal skills (positive, persuasive, motivating) and able to communicate effectively with others at all levels in the organization.
- Ability to analyze problems, propose solutions, test theories, research alternatives, and reach conclusions.
