Position Overview
This role is part of a Quality Control team responsible for manufacturing quality engineering activities for current and new production at the Columbia City facility. The Quality Engineer works cross‑functionally with plant personnel, Customer Service, and customers to support product quality, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement through Lean and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead core quality activities including PPAP completion, RMA/customer return analysis, production quality issue resolution, and supplier quality management.
Collaborate cross‑functionally to develop, improve, and launch robust manufacturing processes and support new product introductions.
Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including tooling/workstation improvements and cost reduction efforts.
Manage supplier interactions, technical coordination, and manufacturing change processes (MCN), including feasibility reviews and component validation.
Analyze equipment, processes, and technologies to support capital planning, product/process improvements, and overall operational efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and statistical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
Ability to work cross‑functionally with strong communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
Proficiency in computer applications (Excel, Word, project tools) and data analysis.
Results-driven, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship to obtain or keep U.S. work authorization.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, or IATF 16949 quality systems.
ASQ certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer) or willingness to obtain.
Auditor certification/training (Lead or Internal Auditor) for applicable standards.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

This position requires occasional travel. The employee must be able to fly or drive out of town to attend meetings with customers and suppliers or attend training.
