Accounting and Finance Intern
The goal of our internship program is to provide candidates a diverse, real-world experience in a variety accounting roles in our organization. Interns will work in one of 6 accounting roles, including Corporate Accounting , Segment Accounting, FP&A, Internal Audit. Interns will directly report to the leader of one those teams and have visibility and exposure to key Finance Leadership. Interns will be provided technical, soft-skill and on-the-job training. The internship program will last ~12 weeks (early June – late September).
Job Details:
Hybrid: at least 4x RTO in a month - might change depending on team meetings, company gatherings, etc.
Schedule: 3:00PM - 07:00PM
Responsibilities will be role-dependent, but may include:
• Assist in preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis
• Perform required monthly balance sheet reconciliations, researching and resolving variances
• Monitoring of daily cash activities
• Consolidation and intercompany elimination process and investigation
• Support month end close activities
• Perform basic reconciliations and sanity checks on financial data.
• Provide SEC Reporting support - 10Ks, 10Qs, earnings releases, benefit plans and government surveys
• Support preparation of reports with data from various systems (e.g., Excel, OneStream, or similar). Learn how to navigate and obtain data from ERP systems.
• Maintain and update standard FP&A templates and trackers.
• Coordinate with team members for data requests and report preparation.
• Participate in projects to streamline and improve current financial processes using 80/20 and other continuous improvement principles
• Work to create efficiencies in the team’s existing supporting schedules through use
• Perform audit readiness visits to assess internal controls at select entities
• Assist entities with remediating audit findings/deficiencies
• Assist with special projects, as needed
Qualifications:
• Completion of at least two (2) major accounting subjects with a minimum grade of 90% (or its equivalent—e.g., 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, or approximately 1.75 on a 1.0–5.0 scale), and an overall general weighted average of at least 90% or its equivalent.
• Intent to pursue Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working on team projects
• Curious mindset that proactively seeks understanding and feedback
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
