Position Overview
We are seeking a IoT & Backend Developer with hands-on experience in backend development and exposure to IoT data processing.
The role involves building and enhancing real-time, scalable backend services for an Industrial IoT platform. The candidate will work on telemetry ingestion, API development, and cloud-based data processing systems using Azure PaaS services.
This position requires someone who can independently deliver features, contribute to design discussions, and work within an existing architecture to build reliable and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
IoT & Real-Time Data Processing
· Develop and maintain IoT telemetry ingestion and processing pipelines
· Work with event-driven systems using Azure IoT Hub / Event Hub
· Ensure data reliability, correctness, and basic performance optimization
Backend Development
· Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend services
· Implement asynchronous and event-driven workflows
· Contribute to multi-tenant backend systems with proper data handling
Database & Data Modeling
· Work with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB and MongoDB
· Design and implement data models for telemetry and asset data
· Write efficient queries and support performance improvements
Azure Platform Development
· Develop and deploy services using:
o Azure Functions
o Azure App Services
o Event Hub / IoT Hub
· Work within defined cloud architecture and deployment patterns
Engineering Practices & Quality
· Write unit tests and support integration testing
· Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards
· Debug and resolve issues in development and production environments
· Use GitHub for version control and collaboration
Required Skills & Qualifications
· 3–6 years of experience in backend development
· Proficiency in at least one programming language:
o C# (.NET Core / ASP.NET) OR
o Python OR
o Node.js
· Strong understanding of:
o REST API development
o Backend service architecture
· Hands-on experience with:
o Cosmos DB or MongoDB
· Working knowledge of Azure services:
o Azure IoT Hub / Event Hub
o Azure Functions
o Azure App Services
· Basic understanding of:
o Event-driven architecture
o IoT telemetry processing
· Experience with Git-based workflows (GitHub)
· Ability to write unit tests and debug issues effectively
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
· Experience in Industrial IoT / Manufacturing domain
· Familiarity with IoT protocols such as:
o MQTT, Modbus, OPC-UA
· Exposure to:
o Microservices architecture
o Real-time streaming systems
· Understanding of:
o Time-series data handling
o Performance optimization techniques
· Basic knowledge of:
o Authentication, authorization, and API security
· Exposure to logging, monitoring, and observability tools
