The HR Operations Specialist will be responsible for end-to-end HR operational activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless execution of core HR processes. This role involves managing payroll, employee taxation, incentive calculations, statutory compliance, and audits, along with supporting key HR processes such as the annual increment cycle. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, a process-oriented mindset, and hands-on experience with Workday. Payroll Management • Manage end-to-end payroll processing with accuracy and timeliness. • Validate salary inputs including new hires, exits, compensation changes, arrears, bonuses, and recoveries. • Coordinate with Finance and external payroll partners for reconciliations and payout processing. • Maintain payroll MIS, dashboards, and statutory registers. Employee Taxation & Incentive Calculations • Calculate employee income tax, investment declarations, and year-end tax proofs. • Ensure compliance with prevailing tax laws and communicate updates to employees. • Manage incentive and variable pay calculations, ensuring correct application of rules and approvals. • Support annual Form 16 and tax-related queries. Leave & Attendance Management • Oversee leave and attendance systems, ensuring accurate data capture and policy adherence. • Manage integrations with biometric systems . • Conduct regular audits to minimize errors and employee grievances. HR Statutory Compliance • Ensure compliance under applicable labor laws including: o Shops & Establishment Act o Code on Wages awareness and readiness o PF, ESIC, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, and other statutory components • Maintain statutory documentation, registers, and filings. • Liaise with external consultants and government authorities as required. Statutory & Internal Audits • Prepare for and independently face statutory audits, ensuring timely closure of audit points. • Strive for zero non-compliance (NC) in future audit cycles. • Conduct periodic internal audits of HR processes, systems, and documentation. • Drive process improvements based on audit observations. HR Systems & Workday Management • Handle Workday transactions related to HCM, compensation, reporting, and data accuracy. • Ensure high data integrity across HR systems. Annual Increment Cycle • Own the end-to-end Increment/Compensation Review Process, including: o Compensation data preparation o Budget tracking o Manager review support o Validation and final upload in Workday • Partner with HRBPs and leadership to ensure smooth rollout and communication. HR Operations & Process Excellence • Maintain HR SOPs, employee lifecycle documentation, and HR dashboards. • Respond to employee queries related to payroll, taxation, leave, and HR policies. • Identify automation opportunities and implement process improvements for operational efficiency Required Education / Experience: • Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. • 8 - 10 years of experience in payroll, compliance & HRIS. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency with tools like SAP, Workday etc. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
